1. Child Welfare Programme

  • Educational Awareness and Promotion of Schooling among the children of the target communities
  • Child Health Care camps including participation in Pulse Polio Campaign, Nutritional Awareness Campaigns, and Mother and Child Immunization.
  • Eradication of Child Labour – through mobilizing and educating the communities on Right to Education Act. Conducting campaigns  on discouraging employing children in the labour works.

2. Science and Technology: The initiative is to create the taste of Science and Technology among the school/college children and the educated youth.  Camps are conducted on the eve of school / college days by organizing Science Exhibitions in the institutions.

3. Health Awareness Programme

  • Health camps in the schools for the benefit of the school children. The camps include awareness on health issues, personal hygiene, free diagnostic and curative camps.
  • Community Awareness on HIV and AIDS to educate the communities on safe sex practices and prevention from HIV/AIDS.
  • Safe Drinking Water Awareness Campaign is another aspect to create awareness on water borne diseases and importance of safe water consumption.

4. Women Empowerment Programme

  • Formation of Self Help Groups and capacitation of the women groups in financial management and Leadership Quality Development.
  • Campaigning against Gender abuse and Domestic Violence is another very important activity organized to educate the women on Women Rights and Domestic Violence, safety and security aspects about women.
  • Trainings in Vocational Courses and Income Generation Activities like Tailoring, Dress Making, Fashion Designing, Computer Trainings, Vermicomposting are imparted for women and young girls in the project area.

5. Road Safety Campaigns : is the awareness campaign organized every year to create awareness on Road Safety, safe driving, following of traffic rules etc. for people of all wakes of life.

6. Cultural Shows: are the medium of intervention to create awareness among the communities on different socio-economic issues in the programme area.

7. Eco-Environmental activities – Promotion of greening: With the support of Ministry of Environment, AGRA has organized village level activities to educate the communities about the importance of promotion and protection of greenery around the villages. Small group meetings, cultural shows, school level meetings were organized every year. The importance of plantation, protection and ensure safe-guarding the plants and natural resources were advocated among the communities.
